If no results are returned, then this means that the search term is not popular at the time of search. You might also need to change your search term slightly. E.g change Maths worksheets to Math worksheets. Also, for best results use American spelling.

For example, if you search for apples and the tools returns 14 (in the tile box), this means that 14 products on the first page have ‘apples’ in their title.

How to Use the Teachers Edge Tool?
The first time you use the tool, as it uses Google Sheets, you will need to allow access.
Teaches Edge has 7 main tools. Each tool has been outlined below.
TPT Search
In the TPT Search tab, simply type a search term into the first orange cell, and the tool will automatically extract the current high-volume, trending keywords from the TPT website. These keywords represent what’s actively being searched for by teachers on the platform.
Additionally, the tool scans real-time data, giving you an accurate snapshot of popular search terms. If nothing appears after entering your search term, this means the term you typed is not currently trending or has low search volume on TPT. Additionally, this feature allows you to identify what’s currently trending on TPT and refine your keyword strategy accordingly.
Google Search
For Google Search, enter your desired search term in the first orange cell, and the tool will generate a list of Google Autocomplete SEO Keywords on the right. These are suggested search phrases based on what users are typing into Google’s search bar. This can help you uncover additional, highly relevant keywords for your TPT listings.
Moreover, Google’s autocomplete suggestions are a valuable resource for expanding your keyword list. They reflect popular search trends and can help you optimise your content for broader visibility.
Teachers Edge Competition Analysis
In the Competition tab, enter your target keywords into the orange cells to evaluate the level of competition associated with those search terms. This tool will show you a detailed breakdown of the competition for each keyword, including:
- Competition Score: A numerical and colour-coded representation of how competitive a keyword is.
- Competition Difficulty (stars): A colour-coded star rating that indicates the difficulty level for ranking with the chosen keyword(s).
- Reviews and Prices: The number of reviews and the price of resources that are already ranking for your selected keyword(s) on TPT. Thus, giving you an idea of the current competition from pages 1 to 5.
To conclude, this comprehensive analysis helps you make more strategic decisions by comparing your keywords with existing listings and assessing where opportunities lie in terms of ranking and pricing.
Title and Description
The Title and Description feature allows you to see how many times your competitors are using a specific keyword phrase in their product title and the first ~90 words of their product description. To use this tool, simply type the desired keyword phrase into the first orange cell.
Next, the tool will then scan the top-ranking products on TPT’s first page to determine how many of your competitors are incorporating that same keyword in both their product title and description. Likewise, this feature provides valuable insight into how competitive the keyword is and whether it’s commonly used in high-ranking listings.
By analysing this data, you can better understand how to optimise your own product’s titles and descriptions. Therefore, increasing your chances of ranking higher for the chosen keyword on the TPT website.
Find Resource Rank
The Find Resource Rank feature allows you to track how your product is performing for a specific keyword. To use this Teachers Edge tool, type your target keyword phrase into the first orange cell. Then, enter your store name in the second orange cell.
Furthermore, the tool will then display whether your product(s) appear in the search results for that keyword on pages 1 through 5. This feature helps you assess your current ranking. It gives you a clear picture of where your product stands in relation to competitors for that keyword. Moreover, by regularly checking your resource rank, you can monitor your SEO performance, track improvements over time, and adjust your listings to increase your visibility and sales.
Teachers Edge Research Tool
To begin using the Research tool, navigate to the Competition sheet where you will find detailed data about your chosen keywords and competitors. Once you’ve identified the information you want to transfer, simply copy the relevant data.
Then, head to the Research sheet and paste the copied information. For best results, make sure to use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Shift + V. This will paste the data as plain text, preserving the original formatting.
Alternatively, you can use the edit menu by clicking Edit > Paste special > Values only. This ensures that only the raw data (without any extra formatting) is transferred. Also, to avoid any compatibility issues, it’s important to use Google Chrome as your browser. This will ensure the tool functions correctly.
Rank Research
To use the Rank Research tool, go to the Find Resource Rank tab, where you will find ranking information for your products based on specific keywords. Similar to the Research process, copy the data from the Find Resource Rank tab (refer to the video for a step-by-step demonstration).
Next, navigate to the Rank Research sheet and paste the copied information. As with the Research sheet, it’s crucial to paste the data using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Shift + V. Alternatively, through the Edit > Paste special > Values only menu. This will ensure that only the raw data is transferred, free from any extra formatting.
For optimal performance and smooth functionality, always use Google Chrome when performing these actions. To conclude, this method allows you to keep track of your product rankings over time. In addition, it will analyse how well your listings are performing for specific keywords.
